Ponies are interwoven into the stories, songs, lives and landscapes of Dartmoor. Widecombe Fair, Cranmere Benjie, Bellever’s hobby horse, Sir Francis Drake's coach, Wistman’s Wood, Dewer, Hingston Hill, Childe the hunter, and Old Crockern - tales abound of ghostly horses, granite grey mares, and colts being furiously ridden at night by mischievous pixies! Join Emma to walk part of the route of a famous skeleton horse, and explore the possible origins and inspirations of the many other horse myths, legends, and place names across the Moor.
LEVEL: MODERATE - approximately 8 kilometres/5 miles on open and hilly moorland. Following grassy paths where possible, terrain maybe rough, wet, rocky or tussocky in places.
Route is dependent on weather conditions and group pace.

FEE: £25 per adult + booking fee. Group size is limited so pre-booking is essential.
CANCELLATION: The event will go ahead come rain or shine. We do not offer refunds. If you cancel more than 4 weeks before the date of the walk or experience we will send you a credit note to use within 1 year minus a £5 admin fee and the £2 booking fee. We do not transfer tickets so in this instance you can use your credit note to rebook with us.
If you cancel within 4 weeks of the date of a walk or experience we recommend that you try to resell/pass on your ticket yourself. If you resell/pass on please let us know who will be attending in your place.
We have seen a significant number of cancellations over the past few years, and as a very small organisation we have suffered and therefore as a consequence we now have a strict no refund policy - we do hope you understand and will continue to support us.
