Bursaries
Dartmoor’s Daughter creates guided walks and nature-connection experiences which invite people to slow down, learn, and care more deeply for this unique landscape.
I believe that the opportunity to connect with Dartmoor, to learn about it, and to experience it in a meaningful way should be open to everyone – regardless of their financial circumstances.
That’s why I’ve created a bursary fund.

Making Dartmoor More Accessible
Bursaries offer free or subsidised places on Dartmoor’s Daughter experiences to people who are facing financial barriers.
They can be used towards any Dartmoor’s Daughter experience, creating an opportunity to spend time on the moor, learn something new, connect with nature, and simply be part of a shared experience outdoors.
Sometimes, the cost of taking part is the thing that stands between someone and an experience they would otherwise love to have. A bursary is a small way of helping to remove that barrier.
How Bursary Places Work
Available bursary places will be offered through my seasonal newsletter.
If you’d like to hear when new places become available, you can sign up to the newsletter.
There’s no judgement or expectation attached to applying for a bursary. They are simply there for people who would like to take part but are experiencing financial circumstances that make the usual cost difficult to manage.
Help Someone Experience Dartmoor
The bursary fund is made possible by people who choose to contribute.
If you’ve found value in Dartmoor’s Daughter – whether through a walk, a story, a new piece of knowledge, or simply a moment of connection – you can help make those experiences available to someone else. A donation of any size can help.
Your contribution could help someone who might otherwise have to miss out to spend a few hours walking across Dartmoor, noticing the landscape around them, learning about its wildlife, geology, history or folklore, and experiencing the sense of connection that comes from being out on the moor.
This work is small and heart-led. Every bursary is made possible by people who believe that nature connection, learning, and access to wild places matter. If you’d like to help someone else experience Dartmoor, please consider donating to the bursary fund. Every contribution helps. And every one is deeply appreciated.
