Sacred Arc - 9 Stone Circles Walks over a weekend to celebrate Summer Solstice

BOOK TICKETS

Walk with Dartmoor's Daughter through an ancient and ritual landscape on Dartmoor. The nine stone circles on North East Dartmoor form an approximate arc. Taking an archaeological as well as phenomenological approach, we will journey together - sometimes in silence and sometimes sharing our experiences - through this wild and beautiful landscape asking questions of the ancestors, stones, and land along the way.

SATURDAY 20TH JUNE:

TIME: 2.30pm - 7.30pm

LEVEL: MODERATE - approximately 14km on open and hilly moorland. A good level of fitness is required.

We will visit Buttern Stone Circle, Whitemoor Stone Circle, Metherall Stone Circle, and Scorhill Stone Circle.

Route is dependent on weather conditions and group pace.

LOCATION: Walk Start Point: Grassy area at the start of the rough track leading to Buttern Farm, Gidleigh.

*National Grid Reference: SX 65848 89569

*What3Words Reference: ///pixies.launcher.towns
*Postcode: TQ138HU - please note that Sat Nav’s are highly unreliable on Dartmoor and are unlikely to get you to the exact location.

Driving directions/any final details will be emailed approximately a week before the walk; please remember to check your junk email folder.

Please car share where possible. Parking is limited on Dartmoor and sharing lessens our impact on the environment. Thank you.
