Dartmoor Stroll through East Dart Country - for Single Outdoors-Lovers

Pi Soc Stroll through east dart country.jpg

Pi Society & Dartmoor’s Daughter have again joined forces to invite you for a stunning walking experience on Dartmoor. Walking together with other single outdoors-lovers.

The Double Dart Gorge is one of the most stunning views on Dartmoor. Join us for a Sunday morning walk up Sharp Tor to gaze at the view; then down through Bronze Age round house ruins and burial chambers; along a double stone row, and past two stone crosses - one old, one new...followed by lunch at the Tavistock Inn in Poundsgate. This is a great way to enjoy a walk and meet other single people.

Tickets

Prices are £15.00 for one ticket and £20 for two tickets

Lunch not included.

Further Information

TIME: Meet at 9.15 for a 9.30am walking start at the Car park at Bel Tor Corner close to Sharp Tor. It’s marked P on the OS Dartmoor map and often has an icecream van in it. The car park is 15-20 minutes drive from the Ashburton turn-off on the A38. Grid reference is SX694731. And the nearest postcode is TQ13 7PS but do not rely on your Sat Nav to get you to the exact location. Car sharing is encouraged please.

Lunch is planned for 1pm at the Tavistock Inn. One of England's oldest pubs, Tavistock Inn dates back to about 1413. The strangest guest to visit the "Tavi" must have been old Nick himself (yes The Devil).

LEVEL: Moderate. Approximately 3 miles or 5 kilometres at a relaxed pace although you will need to be comfortable walking for 3-4 hours in hilly moorland terrain.

WHAT TO BRING: Sturdy hiking boots, plenty of warm layers, hat and gloves, waterproof jacket and trousers (whatever the weather forecast); snacks and drink.
